Lip Care for Lipstick Wearers!

Did you know that the Egyptians were the first to use minerals, berries and INSECTS to create cosmetics? Even men wore lipstick and nail lacquers (these were stains) before important battles. Recently, I’ve been digging the lipstick color selections from Mac, Maybelline, Revlon, Wet N’ Wild and everybody in between. Therefore, I purchased a few including 24 CarrotGold, Think Pink, and Sugar Plum Fairy from Wet N’ Wild Mega Last Lip Colors and Hot Plum from Maybelline’s Vivid Collection, just to name a few. I’m not a late bloomer when it comes to lipstick (since I wore black for the longest), but with beautiful scrumptious looking lips, comes uneven, dry and sometimes flaky skin. Ugh, so nasty! Allegedly drinking plenty of water will keep them moisturized, but my lips have a mind of their own. So while rummaging through moms cosmetic bag, I found an exfoliator by BeautiControl called Skinlogic LipApeel. It contains a line peel along with a lip balm in a 1.25oz container. Exfoliators remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling silky smooth. I would totally suggest purchasing the lip apeel. But, another alternative is E.L.F.’sCosmetic Lip Exfoliator. It is new and I have yet to try it, but Makeupby Jo did a review on it and she was very pleased. Plus it was only $3, so you can’t get any better than that! So while packing on the color to achieve perfect pouty lips, remember to drink plenty of water, moisturize (with Baby Lips) and get a good lip exfoliator. But most of all stay KISSABLE! MUAH!

I Love Summer, That's My Freakin' Problem

2013 Unique DIY Curvy Girl Swim Wear

Summer Jams. Block Parties. Tankinis and Beaches!  Summer is almost here, and I’m oober
doober excited! (Especially since I’ll be turning 23!) So this summer I want doober excited! (Especially since I’ll be turning 23!) So this summer I want to celebrate by lounging on the beach sipping (Yes, ladies sip…lol) on a Blue Hawaiian and listening to some reggae (I’m a Rasta type of girl). But my curves can’t look any type of way! I need the perfect outfit!  So I decided to browse the internet to see what they had to offer. There were lots of swimsuits, but most were too gran-ish for me (what’s the purpose of having curves, if I can’t flaunt them every now and then). Then, I stumbled upon Monif C website, not by chance though, since I had been following her since I first saw her on BET’s Rip the Runway. What she creates is ABSOLTUELY fabulous and her new Island Gypsy 2013 Swimsuit Collection is the bomb.com, but those prices are out my league. So like usual, I kept it moving. Then I came across the Liz Clairborne High Waist Control Bottom (size 14-24 in red and black) for $20 at JC Penny’s and also the High Waist Shaping Bottom (size s-xl in black only) at Walmart for $16. I was like this is so awesome; I can create unique swim wear for this summer.  Then I was like I need a top, and not just any kind, but a bandeau. Bandeaus were all the rave last summer and their here again for summer 2013. So I decided to search YouTube on instructions on how to create my own. What I found was PassionJonesz video on creating this look from a scarf and also Luvableviet and SecretLifeOfaBioNerd videos on sewing a top from fabric. However, you can also just buy a pattern from your local fabric store if that's easier for you. So this summer dare to be different and rock a custom bandeau with a high waist bottom. I most definitely will be doing  so! And don't forget to browse the thrift store for accessories and unconventional coverups to add statement to your already stunning outfit. Watch out summer 2013 here I come!!!!
